September Surge is a full-day career prep + coworking experience for professionals, founders, entrepreneurs, creators + career changers who want to head into one of DC's busiest professional weeks with more than just another event on their calendar. Bring your laptop. Bring your actual to-do list. Come ready to work. Spend the day co-working from The Malin, getting career/business support, refreshing your professional headshot, meeting people worth knowing, hearing from founders + experts, experiencing curated partner activations and leaving with tangible progress toward whatever you're building next. Every September, Washington, DC fills with professionals, founders, entrepreneurs, policymakers, creators + people figuring out their next move. With the CBC Foundation Week's Annual Legislative Conference beginning immediately after September Surge, there will be no shortage of receptions, panels, meetings, networking events and rooms to walk into. September Surge is about making sure you're prepared before you walk into them. I created this event because I wanted something different from another networking mixer where we exchange Instagram handles, take a few pictures and leave with the same to-do list we arrived with. This is a working day. You can use the space to: * Apply for the job. * Update the résumé. * Fix the LinkedIn. * Send the pitch. * Work on the business. * Follow up with the person you've been meaning to contact. * Prepare for CBC Week. * Get the new headshot. * Meet another founder, professional or creator. * Sit down and actually finish something. There will be programming happening around you throughout the day, panels, professional resources, headshots, wellness moments, partner experiences, music + networking, but the center of September Surge is still the work. You do not have to be attending CBC Week to attend September Surge. You just need something you're ready to move forward. Please note: September Surge will be professionally photographed and filmed, and participating creators will be capturing portions of the event for social + recap content.
